Food Safety/Compliance Manager

Reporting To: Head of Technical

Department: Technical

Location: Tarleton & Plantation Road

Hours of Work: 40 Hours per Week / Monday to Friday / Between the hours of 0800 – 1700

Being a management position; hours outside of the above will be required from time to time in line with the requirements of the role and the business. This may incorporate hours before 0800 or after 1700 and also weekend working.

Breaks: Monday to Friday – 30 Mins per Day

Overall Function:

Within a fast-paced produce environment, the Food Safety/Compliance Manager will ensure that customer and regulatory requirements are adhered to and will enforce company rules and procedures with the aim to provide effective technical management and compliance of the site.

Assist in supporting for the site Technical Team to meet business requirements.

Daily Duties to Include:

  • Ensuring the site meets company, retailer, industry, operational and legal standards. (Tesco TFS standards, BRC)
  • Managing complaints investigations, determining root causes, and implementing timely corrective and preventive actions.
  • Work with Managers to ensure compliance in every area of the business.
  • Keep close communication with all site Managers to engage and provide direction and support with regards to audits.
  • Being an approachable and proactive member of the Site Management Team, offering expertise on technical, food safety, compliance, and quality matters while contributing to broader business initiatives.
  • Developing and delivering food safety and quality training programs.
  • Conduct internal GMP audits.
  • Prepare site’s compliance for all customer and third-party visits / audits on site.
  • Conduct factory tours with Customers on request.
  • Seeking continuous improvement in all areas of the business.
  • Any other duties deemed necessary by the Technical Director.
  • Full training will be provided for any new tasks that may be given / expected.

  • HACCP Trained (essential)
  • Full UK Driving License – Required
